FINANCIAL PLANNING & RETIREMENT STRATEGIES

Welcome to the 4th Quarter 2019 – NEXT STEPS

End of Year Planning!

So the summer is over, kids are back to school and you’re back to work. What’s next? Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year. Yes those are both stressful and exciting holidays. However, I want you to begin planning for a few key events that will help take care of you and your family.

  1. Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) enrollment – November 1, 2019 – December 15, 2019. This is the time to enroll or update your healthcare coverage for 2020. UNDER 65

  2. Medicare enrollment period is October 15, 2019 – December 7, 2019. Similar to ACA, this is for those new to Medicare to enroll, or for current Medicare recipient to make any adjustments to their plan.

  3. Annual Review. How did you do this year? Where are you in achieving the financial goals you laid out in the beginning of the year. The optimal time to gauge where you are is October and November, so you can adjust your 2020 goals.

  4. 2019 income tax planning. The time to start planning for income tax is not January, but the fourth quarter to be ahead of the game. Start gathering documents, maybe catch up on 401K contributions and update deductions.
